DJ/Producer Becka brings you the 2nd release of her label, Gotham City Records. “GCR” is an online digital sub-division of NYC’s successful Gotham Grooves vinyl label. Relocating to Spain in the summer of 2006 with Gotham Grooves and Gotham City Records label manager, Ara Krikorian (aka Agent Orange), they have been touring in countries such as Greece, France, Belgium, & more.

Already in heavy rotation by djs throughout the world and charted by the likes of Marko Nastic (markonastic.com), the miniMax EP is a perfect blend of 4 tracks in 4 moods. Each track has a very unique sound to suit big room sounds to more laid back atmospheres.

1 Agaric (Patrick Skoog) with the group Headroom has released records on respected labels such as Evil Deception, Planet Rhythm, Synewave NY, Cloned, Template, Submissions, Compound, to name a few and in 1999 set up his solo project, Native Diffusion Records to focus on his own production work. As a result, he was summoned by fellow Swede Adam Beyer to remix and release his own ep on now classic imprint Drumcode. In early 2005 he launched a new project Agaric, where he explores the slower, deeper realm of techno and house. On this ep, Against The Grain is a perfect fusion of these styles and sounds. Starting off strong with dark heavy kicks, this track builds layer upon layer of crisp and smooth edits. Due to the quality in production, it has already gained approval from many artists, including Oliver Ho, and has been charted by Marko Nastic.

2. Freshly re-inspired, Becka and Agent Orange bring another sizzling track, Bent, from their collaboration project and new studio in Barcelona. Dark moody synths bend and reverberate in perfect harmony and glide over tough, driving drums, deep dark baseline and sharp tribal vocals, making this track sound like a cross between Hardcell and Oliver Ho.

3. NYC producers Deosil and The Rev present us with their debut track Resist. Warped jackin’ chicago styled vocals will make you “Jack Your Body.” A minimal tech-house groove blends together with tripped out classic Roland Juno 106 synth lines. “Feel the rhythm, pulsing through your veins.” A smooth afterhours sound which is already in the box of Derrick Carter and Josh Wink.

4. Rounding out this EP is another heavy production from Agent Orange, this time with Brooklyn’s Justin Schumacher in the co-pilot’s chair. They bring out the big guns here, with a hard floor stomper entitled Trapped. Heavy percussion and a dark, heavily tweaked out synth combine with slick edits, making this track a must have for anyone who likes dropping peak hour bombs and causing mayhem on the dancefloor! In the middle it breaks down into Justin’s raw freestyle lyrics. Trapped will give you a real cutting edge sound that can ONLY come from the borough of Brooklyn. Floor tested - crowd approved.
